Privacy Policy

The difference between a public-media lookup, temporary cached results, the verification cookie and advertising data.

What you send when you search

Submitting a username or Instagram link sends that lookup to Storyload’s server. The server requests available public data from Instagram or a configured data source. This is a network service: the lookup is not processed entirely on your device. Do not submit private credentials or personal information in the search field.

Accounts and passwords

Visitors do not need a Storyload account or an Instagram password to use the lookup. Not requesting a password does not make browsing anonymous: web requests still involve technical information such as an IP address and browser details.

Temporary lookup and image caches

Successful lookup metadata is ordinarily cached for one hour. When the same lookup succeeds a third time during that first hour, the cache expiry is extended to 24 hours after that third lookup. Image previews may also be cached. A cached result can outlive a change on the original public page; it is not a permanent archive.

Video requests

Videos are requested when a visitor chooses to play or download them. The service does not retain video files as a server-side archive. Network delivery of a video is still separate from the downloaded copy that your browser saves on your device.

Human verification

The verification flow uses an essential, secure, HTTP-only cookie named __Host-storyload-human to remember a successful check for up to 15 minutes. Blocking that cookie can cause another verification prompt. Clearing site cookies removes the local verification state.

Hosting and advertising

Hosting and security services may process IP addresses, timestamps, browser information and requested URLs to deliver and protect the service. The site includes Google AdSense advertising code. Google and advertising partners may process cookies or similar identifiers for ad delivery and measurement, and for personalization where permitted. These data flows are different from the public media requested by a lookup.

Choices you can make

You can clear Storyload site data in your browser, adjust cookie permissions and use Google My Ad Center to manage Google advertising preferences. Blocking essential cookies may affect verification. Removing a download from your device does not remove a public Instagram post or data already held by an upstream service.

About this policy

This page describes the service’s implemented lookup, caching and verification behavior as reviewed on October 18, 2026. Instagram, hosting and advertising providers publish their own policies. Review those policies when deciding whether to use their services or change their account-level controls.
